Woodmen Hills held the first-ever Pooch Paddle Sept. 8. Owners paid $5 per dog for their pets to enjoy a splash in the Woodmen Hills Community Center West's outdoor pool.
Shelly Shuck, Woodmen Hills aquatic director, said 50 dogs participted in the event.
"This is such a great turnout," Shuck said. "We will definitely be doing this again next year."
Shuck said the event brought in $276.10 and proceeds will be given to National Mill Dog Rescue in Peyton.

Amy Nichols of Colorado Springs tested the water first before her Lab/Vizsla mix, Ginger, would jump in. Nichols adopted Ginger in March from the Mill Dog Rescue.
