This is Xanadu, a black and white Scottish Fold. She is polydactyl (six toes on each front paw) – many of the Ernest Hemingway cats were polydactyl. Xanadu came to Wild Blue Animal Rescue with two babies – currently in foster care. Xanadu is sweet and loves to be held; however, she doesn’t like dogs and might get along best as the only kitty in the household. She is about 4 years old, spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $75. Call 719-964-8905 or visit http://wbars.org for more information.

The Scottish Fold breed has a natural dominant gene mutation that creates a fold in its ear cartilage, causing the ears to bend forward and down toward the front of the head. The look has been described as an owl-like appearance.
