The New Falcon Herald
If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.

The purpose of creating this newspaper 10 years ago was to initiate a sense of community in what was the fastest growing community in Colorado, and to produce a newspaper that the community found useful and informative. Something that helps you feel like you know a little more about where you live!
As I reflect on 10 years as the publisher of The New Falcon Herald, what I appreciate most is two things that have remained constant: our readers and our advertisers.
Our readers have taken ownership of the paper, and that makes us thankful and proud. This is evident by the many story ideas and news tips we receive each month from our readers.
Our advertisers are also crucial. A free newspaper relies on its advertisers for their support. Without our advertisers, simply put, the community wouldn't have a paper. It's a relationship that we cherish.
In this day when news and information is seemingly everywhere, there’s still something about reading through a local newspaper that makes one feel a part of the community. Just as many of us pick up the local newspaper when on vacation, a visitor passing through Falcon may feel a connection simply by picking up a copy of The New Falcon Herald and discovering the issues facing this town. Knowing what’s going on provides a sense of community and comfort.
We do our best to let our readers know what’s going on as clearly and accurately as we can. For the last 10 years that's been our source of pride!
So, once again, thank you readers and advertisers for 10 great years!
I hope your holidays are happy and somewhat stress free – and we’ll see you in January with our annual health and wellness-focused issue.
   Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!
   - Michelle
   Congratulations, Michelle
   10 years and still strong

I left that first writers’ meeting (just two writers then) with a job and a story assignment that ended up on the front page. I am so grateful to Michelle for taking a chance on me all those years ago. Going to that writers’ meeting was one of the best decisions I ever made. Thanks for everything. You’re the best, and congrats on 10 years.
I have been here more than a year and have learned so much about my community while having fun writing for the paper. Caring about community is what The New Falcon Herald is all about, and I think that sentiment comes from Michelle and her commitment to publishing a fantastic paper. Congratulations on 10 years!
Thank you, Michelle, for taking a chance on me, for trusting me; for helping me support my family financially; and allowing me to be there for them when they need me. It means more to me than you’ll ever know! Congratulations on 10 years, and many more.
Congrats on 10 years! I am very proud of the five years I worked as a writer for the NFH. I learned so much from you and Marylou and wish you all continued success. Happy Holidays!

Congratulations Michelle on 10 fabulous years of serving our community with such an incredible newspaper. Little did I know that when I opened your business account at The State Bank 10 years ago I would have the privilege of working with you.  You are a special person and have put together an outstanding team at The New Falcon Herald. I am pretty sure we all thank our lucky stars we work for such a hard working and professional person. Oh yeah, and such a wonderful friend!
Congratulations, Michelle!  You should be proud of what the NFH has come to mean in the community, as we all are who have had the pleasure to work with you on this publication for the past 10 years.
I met Michelle Barrette through my work with the Eastern Plains Chamber of Commerce. While the paper and certain members of the business community were frequently at odds, I learned that she had the best interests of the community at heart. Congratulations on 10 years, Michelle.
Kudos to Michelle! What’s a town without a newspaper? Boring! Thank you for providing a great asset to our community.

When I moved into Woodmen Hills in 2004, I watched new houses being built in a frenzy and new people who didn't know each other moving in all the time. The New Falcon Herald has helped build a community out of all those strangers. Congratulations, Michelle, for fulfilling a vital need in Falcon.

Congratulations on 10 years, Mom! Your dedication, perseverance and enthusiasm that you show each day is admirable. You demonstrate that hard work truly does pay off! We are proud of you!

Traditionally, gifts for 10th anniversaries are made of tin or aluminum. These metals are said to represent durability and flexibility, both of which are necessary elements for running a newspaper in the 21st century. Congratulations to Michelle and The New Falcon Herald on serving the Falcon community for the past 10 years!
Working for someone like you can't really be considered “work.” I love the opportunity you have given me to stretch beyond what I thought I could do. Congratulations on 10 years of this wonderful paper; and many more.
Michelle: Your commitment, hard work and business savvy has kept this train going; and I love and respect you so much. Congratulations on 10 years, and thanks.
